HOLIDAYS AT HOME – 1940’s VINTAGE SUMMER FAYRE Sat 30th & Sun 31st July 2011 Kelham Island Museum, Alma Street, Sheffield S3 8RY t. 0114 272 2106 e. w. Reminiscing the Wake Weekends of the 1940’s, this popular summer event returns with a weekend of live music and dance, street entertainment, vintage stalls, living history home front family fun, 1940’s kitchen and much more set in the ambient setting of Kelham Island Museum and in partnership with the National Fairground Archive(University of Sheffield). Highlights include: • UK's number one George Formby lookalike entertainer P.E.C Esquire with guest appearance from J. Sutton aka : Beryl • 1940s Wartime experience with RADIOLYMPIA music show with your gramophone favourites plus Radiolympia girl Miss IVY WALTERS • ‘Music of the 1940’s’ DJ & Singer Pete Jones, entertaining with the popular sounds of Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Cole Porter, Irvin Berlin and more. With support from UK Home Front and Virtue to Victory, we encourage you to come along dressed in your 1940’s best! Admission Adults £4.50 / Children FREE.
