INTRODUCING THE GB HOME GUARD BAND
A new military band whose members represent a musical heritage of over 300 years performing experience in UK forces bands. The band is available for a wide range of functions such as: Concerts, carnivals, fetes, mess functions, publicity events and all manner of celebrations. The GB Home Guard Band has an extensive library containing full repertoire of military band music. It is therefore able to perform a very wide selection of music and can produce a programme to suit any occasion. The band will be specialising in music from the World War 2 era during 2015.
The Band's conductor is Bandmaster Tony 'Mainwaring' Kitcherside, Bachelor of Music. Tony was formerly the Band Sergeant Major of the Staff Band of the Royal Corps of Transport which was considered to be one of the British Army’s most entertaining bands. On leaving the Army Tony studied music at The Welsh College of Music and Drama. Tony has conducted the Marchwood Orchestra and the Lymington Town Band. He is an innovative composer and arranger and as a result has provided many unique scores for the band.
