On Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd October 2017 the Rushden Historic Transport Society (RHTS) rolls back the years to wartime England, recreating the sights and sounds of life on the Home Front. The event is held at the Society’s historic Midland Railway station and entrance is FREE to re-enactors, living history groups and all those who dress in 1940s’ fashion (military and civilian clothing available from Station 109 Vintage To help you turn back the clock, there will be steam-hauled passenger trains, civilian and military vehicles, living history displays, trade stands and more. Perfect Vintage will provide this year’s musical entertainment, helping you to keep calm and carry on ~ eating and drinking, that is ~ in our 5-Star Rated railway buffet car and CAMRA Award-Winning ale bar. Meanwhile, across the road from the Rushden war-weekend site, STATION 109 VINTAGE Emporium will be offering wine, 1940s’ newsreels and music from the 1940s in an atmospheric environment where you can also buy 1940s’ civilian and military clothing, militaria and household items circa 1940s. The war weekend event is open 10am to 4pm both days. ENTRY IS FREE TO RE-ENACTORS + FREE TRAIN RIDES for re-enactors before 12.00pm and after 3.00pm each day. Entrance otherwise: Adults £2; Senior Citizens £1.50 & Children over 5 years-old £1 (entrance fee shared between the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, the Merchant Navy Association & RHTS).
