THE BLACK OUT WEEKEND - 1940 Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster DY11 6BS
The Black-Out Ball is back by popular demand for the 5th year running!
This year we are extending it to the New Black-Out Weekend! Coinciding with the second weekend of the SVR 1940s weekend,
there is an opportunity for those of you who want to enjoy 2 nights of the very best in early 1940s entertainment. On Friday Night there will be a relaxed start from Brandyn Shaw and Martin Litton – recreating the very best of Al Bowlly and Monia Liter.
The ‘Melody Man’ himself Mark Ewing will be providing gramophone hits for your listening and dancing pleasure. Mark & Hoc will also be entertaining you all with their unique tuition of social dancing, so you can either start from scratch or brush up on your skills ready for the Black-Out Ball on Saturday Night. During Saturday you can visit the local SVR Kidderminster Station with exclusive transport provided by our vintage double decker bus and continue your journey back to 1940 during the day.
Then return to the hotel (on the bus) to get ready for the now famed Black-Out Ball and a night of unrivalled period entertainment from Brandyn Shaw and His ‘Radio’ Rhythm Makers dance band. There is an exclusive discounted offer to stay over and relax in the fabulous Gainsborough House Hotel – see website for more details.
